Scott Akridge, M.D. - Psychiatrist

Dr. Scott Akridge, MD, is a licensed adult psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers. Dr. Akridge joined Serenity in October of 2022. He offers all his patients an understanding and informative care approach.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2018, Dr. Akridge went on to complete his residency at St. Louis University Hospital in 2022.

Dr. Akridge believes that patients deserve to have options and a full understanding of what is best for their care. This conviction fuels his approach to patient care as he provides a range of options for his patients using his clinical knowledge. He also understands how important it is to build lasting relationships with patients and he strives to give each of his patients the respect and honest guidance that they deserve. At Serenity, he offers treatment through ketamine therapy, TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), and medication management.

Outside work, Dr. Akridge enjoys cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, watching TV and movies (such as Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings), reading fantasy novels, and playing sand volleyball. His future plans include international travel, starting a family, and pursuing philanthropic opportunities.

While every field of medicine requires awareness of a patient’s background and social habits, Dr. Akridge believes that psychiatry is the only field that actively examines these areas over longer periods of time and in more depth. He hopes to be part of finding a solution to serious mental health issues by using a multifaceted approach to healing. He is excited to have the opportunity to provide quality psychiatric care to every patient as he joins them on their journey to lead their best life.
